Racing team from Schwäbisch Gmünd made a guest appearance in the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2023 and is expanding the program – All four drivers have already been confirmed
Exciting addition to the ADAC GT4 Germany field: ME Motorsport will field two BMW M4 GT4s in the 2024 season. The series is not new territory for the young team from Baden-Württemberg. ME Motorsport already competed with a car in the 2023 finale at the Hockenheimring – and was subsequently impressed by the concept.
“We made the guest start in 2023 to get to know the ADAC GT4 Germany. The event was great fun. The environment was perfect, everything was superbly organized and the grandstands in the DTM environment were full. Together with our sponsors, we have therefore decided to contest the entire season in 2024. We are really looking forward to the season opener in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben,” explains Team Principal Markus Eichele.
In addition to his team management duties, Eichele will also drive one of the two BMWs. The 43-year-old used to compete in the DTC, but then took a break from motorsport for around 20 years until 2022.
His team-mate in the BMW cockpit will be Philip Wiskirchen. Eichele already contested the guest start with the 19-year-old last year. The name Wiskirchen is well known in ADAC motorsport. Brother Moritz Wiskirchen has already competed in the ADAC GT4 Germany and the ADAC GT Masters.
In the sister car, karting newcomer Thomas Rackl and Dane Andreas Jochimsen shared the driving duties. Youngster Rackl is also a member of the ADAC Sports Foundation support squad in 2024. Jochimsen was most recently in action on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring, for example.
ME Motorsport has ambitious plans for the 2024 season. “We definitely want to be in contention for the Junior title with both cars,” says Team Principal Eichele. “In addition, the aim is to finish in the top eight of the overall standings and maybe even get a sniff of the podium in one or two races. “
