The 1st FSV Mainz 05 will be able to sell up to 30,000 ticketsat its home match against the 1st FC Cologne. The basis for this is a new corona control ordinance of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
The Mainz authorities announced this in a press release. Accordingly, the new regulation does not provide for an upper limit for spectators at Bundesliga home matches, thus more fans than before can enter the stadium at the next home match against FC Köln on 21 November. The basis remains a combination of 2G and 3G regulations, in which some blocks are also accessible to tested persons, but the majority are only accessible to vaccinated or recovered persons. The previously fixed maximum limit for tested persons (maximum 1,000 tickets) is dropped with the new decision.
Most recently, Mainz set a season record of 25,000 spectators at the Mewa Arena during their last home match against Borussia Mönchengladbach, and the maximum capacity of the stadium is 33,305 seats
