Going into the competition, Thomas Pieters was favourite to win, with Lucas Bjerregaard, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Eddie Pepperell and Sam Horsfield all in the mix.
Ryder Cup chances
Thorbjorn Olesen was struggling early on, with two over at 13 holes played. He requires a place in the top six to make it into the Ryder Cup team, so he will need to improve his play to manage that.
Matthew Fitzpatrick and Eddie Pepperell are the other two players that will be hoping they can boost their Ryder Cup chances with a good result at Silkeborg. Both players are due to tee off shortly.

Wiltshire players tee off together
Made in Denmark is the perfect opportunity for some of the lower ranked golfers to make a name for themselves. Players like Wiltshire’s David Howell and Laurie Canter will be hoping that they can do their home county proud as they tee off together today, along with South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout. Howell tied 36th at the Czech Masters last weekend and will be hoping he can build on that over the weekend.
