LoL: PENTA disqualification – TSV 1860 Munich “surprised” by development

“With immediate effect”, team PENTA 1860 has been disqualified from the Strauss Prime League. This was announced by the organiser in a statement. The reason given was a repeated “failure to meet financial obligations”.

As a result, the team will be excluded from the upcoming relegation between division one and two – the matches already played will be counted for the opposing team in each case. For 2023, PENTA 1860 will “neither get a slot in Division Two nor get the chances to sell it.”

TeamOrangeGaming, the next best-placed team in this year’s summer Division 2-3 relegation, can rejoice. Also not getting a starting slot is PENTA 1860 for the Strauss Prime Super Cup.

“Growth opportunities severely limited “

In an official statement, owner Andreas Schätzke tried to explain the failures. There is a “trend for us that the growth opportunities for an eSports club remain severely limited”. In the past year, “six-figure sums” had been invested in the company “to cover the running costs”.

According to Schätzke, this “black hole could not always be serviced just in time”, which is said to have led to the omissions.

TSV 1860: Continuation of cooperation “not foreseeable “

The TSV 1860 Munich, who have been the team’s co-name partner since 2019, has now also commented on this incident. In a statement on Facebook, the club made it clear that the “economic and organisational responsibility” lay solely with PENTA.

The association was “surprised” by the developments. “Whether and in what form the cooperation of our club with PENTA Entertainment can be continued is currently not foreseeable,” the 3rd league leader ended the Facebook post.
