G2 Esports advanced to the League of Legends (LoL) LEC Finals with a clear win against Rogue. The organisation will wait there for the winner of the lower bracket final.
On Saturday night, defending champions G2 Esports left no stone unturned during the LoL LEC Summer Split play-offs: In the very first game of the Upper Bracket final against Rogue, G2 quickly took control. After just 22 minutes, they were able to finish off Baron Nashor and extend their own lead. They then forced the decision with a second Baron buff before the 30th minute – 1:0.
The second game was a bit tighter – the gold difference remained minimal for a long time, Baron Nashor even went to Rogue. However, this did not change the outcome. After a push attempt by the opponent on the top lane, G2 was able to eliminate the opponents and destroy the Nexus – 2:0.

In the third game of the best-of-five, the now Berlin-based team picked up where they left off: After 25 minutes, G2 cracked the enemy base to make it 3-0. With the victory, the team also punched its ticket to participate in the League of Legends World Championship 2022.
In the final of the LEC Summer Split on 11 September, defending champion G2 Esports will meet the winner of the Lower Bracket final, which will also be held in Malmö on 10 September. Loser Rogue will have to face the British organisation Fnatic there. The latter rushed through the 2nd round of the Lower-Bracket-Play-offs with a 3:0 against Misfits Gaming in a similarly safe manner.
