Ben Woodburn has linked his future to Liverpool. On Wednesday evening, the Premier League club will announce through official channels that the 18-year-old attacker has signed a new multi-year contract. Woodburn made his debut in the main power eleven months ago, in a 2-0 victory over Sunderland. Only two football players played their first Liverpool match at a younger age: 17 years and 42 days.
Three days later, on 29 November 2016, Woodburn became the youngest goal maker in club history: he scored in the EFL Cup match against Leeds United (2-0). Woodburn’s counter now stands at ten official duels in the main power and he is now A-international of Wales. In his very first interland, the World Cup qualification competition against Austria (1-0), he made the winning goal.
“It’s incredible feeling to sign a new contract with Liverpool”, says Woodburn on the club site,”This is the club where I want to stay for as long as possible. I wanted to sign the new contract as soon as possible. It feels good. Now I’d like to continue on the right track and hopefully show the trainer what I can,” Woodburn wants to play as many matches as possible for Liverpool Bottom-19 and the first one this season,”Hopefully I’ll play some more duels in the first and continue in the Champions League for Bottom-19″, concludes the teenager.
