Liverpool paid with West Ham United on Saturday without any problems. The team of Jürgen Klopp booked a 4-1 victory on Anfield and rises to second place. On Sunday, Liverpool can be overtaken by Manchester United, which takes over from Chelsea. Jürgen Locadia won his competition debut with Brighton & Hove Albion with a hit. As an alternative he took care of the final position against Swansea City (4-1). Rajiv of La Parra was hit by Huddersfield Town during the 1-2 victory at West Bromwich Albion.
Liverpool – West Ham United 4-1The aluminium was hard hit in the opening phase. Mohamed Salah almost caused Liverpool a dream start, but his shot in the third minute was tapped against the pole by goalkeeper Adrián. On the other side Marko Arnautovic placed the ball nicely in the far corner from the edge of the penalty area, but this time Loris Karius worked the ball against the bar. However, it was a response from West Ham to Liverpool’s dominance in the first quarter of an hour.
After that lively opening phase, the tempo had slowed down, but Liverpool managed to open the score to its own audience. After a corner kick from Salah, West Ham’s cover left much to be desired. Emre Can was at the right place to get the ball in and make the one hundredth official Liverpool goal of the season. Liverpool’s hunger was not yet at rest and after the rest the home team expanded its margin. Salah made out of the twist the 2-0 after good preparatory work by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Egyptian became the first player since Robbie Fowler in 1994/95 who made twenty Premier League goals with his left foot in one season. Via Roberto Firmino it then became 3-0. The Brazilian received a sharp pass from Emre Can, tapped the ball past Adrián and rounded off in mastery. Michail Antonio did something back on behalf of West Ham with a shot in the far corner, but the final stand was determined by Sadio Mané. Virgil van Dijk spent ninety minutes at Liverpool; Georginio Wijnaldum was ill.
Bournemouth – Newcastle United 2-2 A heft ball by Dwight Gayle took Newcastle to the lead after more than a quarter of an hour. The attacker was sought in the penalty area, but Matt Ritchie’s crosses were intercepted by Bournemouth. It led to Gayle working the ball with the heel in an empty goal. The same Gayle also gave peace and quiet for the 0-2, after goalkeeper Asmir Begovic let the ball slip under him. Nathan Aké had a basic spot at Bournemouth and distinguished himself with some crucial interceptions. Partly as a result of this, the damage did not increase. In fact, Bournemouth returned to 1-2 thanks to substitute Adam Smith. The hope returned to Dean Court and that turned out to be right. Newcastle was punished for missing great opportunities: Dan Gosling provided a point sharing.
Brighton & Hove Albion – Swansea City 4-1 With Davy Pröpper in the base and Locadia on the bank Brighton was ahead of Swansea. Mike van der Hoorn committed an offense on Glenn Murray in the penalty area. Murray took care of the penalty and did so successfully. In the second company, goalkeeper Mathew Ryan prevented the equalizer from arriving with a nice rescue on a shot of Ki Sung-Yeung. It was an important operation, because then Brighton walked further away. Murray took care of the 2-0 at the second pole; Anthony Knockaert made the 3-0 with the outside of the foot. Swansea, who played with Luciano Narsingh in the second half, did something back through Tammy Abraham. Just before that Locadia had made his Premier League debut as a substitute and he crowned the baptism of fire with a goal: the ex-PSV’ the ball slipped in after a failed shot by Dale Stephens.
West Bromwich Albion – Huddersfield Town 1-2Rajiv of La Parra and Terence Kongolo appeared for Huddersfield at the kick-off in the basement crane against West Bromwich Albion, but the two Dutch people failed to make their mark on the duel in the first half. The best chances were in the last five minutes of the first business through Salomón Rondón and James McClean for the home team, but Jonas Lössl did not have to fish the ball out of his goal anyway. In the second half of the year Van La Parra was very important with a bang and through Steve Mounie Huddersfield walked a thick half-hour for time to a 0-2 lead. Despite the quick connection hit of Craig Dawson, the Baggies could not avert the defeat in the remainder of the duel anymore.
Burnley – Southampton 1-1Southampton can make good use of the points in the fight against degradation and the Saints also had a head start, it dropped away after a great season start, Burnley could go into rest. After a quarter of an hour of play, Dusan Tadic was allowed to pull out the edge of the sixteen, but saw his attempt burst on the pole next to Nick Pope. In the second half, however, it was still more than twenty minutes to go wrong when the visitors couldn’t get the ball away and Ashley Barnes hit the head. However, Manolo Gabbiadini managed to save a point for his team in the final minute with a pull out of the twist.
