Trent Alexander-Arnold is experiencing his breakthrough this season and has already scored three times for Liverpoool in 21 matches. The nineteen-year-old rightback, who joined the Reds in 2004, says that he always saw his step to the top club in England. His first days in Liverpool’s shirt, however, came about with a bit of luck.
The school of Alexander-Arnold was given the opportunity by Liverpool to send children to a three day training camp of the club,”There were too few invitations for everyone in our classroom, because everyone wanted to go. So they pulled lots out of a hat. Fortunately my name came out,”says the young man in an interview with FourFourTwo.
I went with a smile on my face after that. A scout went to my mother after the end of the session and asked her to send me to the academy two or three times a week. When the opportunity passes, you have to grab it. Without realizing it to me, I did that too. Then it was just another chance for me to play football again for a few days.
In the past, talented people used to look at Liverpool’s training sessions:”I was one of those children who pulled his head over the wall to watch the training. If you are so young and live close to the training complex, such players are your heroes. To see them for a moment, it was incredible. From the Champions League finals of 2005 onwards, it had always been my dream to achieve honorary metal for Liverpool”.
