World footballer Robert Lewandowski, who is keen to leave the club, turned up for his performance test at FC Bayern Munich on Tuesday morning as scheduled.
At just after nine o’clock, the Polish attacker was driven up to the Barmherzige Brüder hospital in the Nymphenburg district, preceded by internationals Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané. The obligatory medical check was followed by performance tests.
There had been speculation for days as to whether and how Lewandowski would deal with this compulsory appointment. The 33-year-old has already publicly announced on several occasions that he is moving to FC Barcelona. Lewandowski, who is still under contract with FC Bayern until 2023, arrived in Munich on Monday evening after his holiday.
On Saturday, the Bayern professionals will present themselves to their fans in the Allianz Arena. The question remains whether Lewandowski will still be there. Afterwards, the record champions will go on a one-week trip to the USA. The first important test of strength of the summer for FC Bayern is the DFL Supercup at DFB Cup winner RB Leipzig on 30 July.
