First partial success for RB Leipzig: For the home match against 1. FC Köln, significantly more spectators are now allowed to come than last time.
The last home match of RB Leipzig against VfL Wolfsburg (2:0) was watched by only 1000 spectators. The Saxons filed a complaint, want to play in front of more spectators. On Monday, there was the first success, as 15,000 spectators are already allowed for the match against 1. FC Köln on Friday evening.
There are 2G-plus conditions in the stadium. The Leipzig health authority had agreed to an expansion of the capacity from previously 12,500 to now 15,000 spectators.
Whether the spectator capacity in the Red Bull Arena will also be increased to 50 per cent (25,000 fans) for the games against San Sebastian (17 February) in the Europa League and SC Freiburg (5 March) will be decided after the Cologne game, RB announced. The successful implementation of the hygiene concept and the development of hospitalisation rates will be taken into account here.
