RB Leipzig will have to do without striker Brian Brobbey (19) for up to two weeks
As the Saxons announced via Twitter on Tuesday morning, the attacker has injured himself while playing for the Dutch U-21 national team. In the 2-2 draw against Switzerland, Brobbey had already been substituted after 29 minutes, while his strike partner Joshua Zirkzee at least saved a draw after trailing 2-0 with a brace after the break.
According to Leipzig, Brobbey suffered a minor muscle injury in his right rear thigh and will have to miss around ten to 14 days. A torn muscle fibre had already put the brawny attacker out of action during preparation.
To date, Brobbey has made three Bundesliga appearances for RB, each time coming on as a substitute – he set up a goal in the 6-0 win over Hertha. Brobbey will now miss at least Leipzig’s away game in Freiburg on Saturday and also the Champions League away game in Paris on 19 October.
