Legend reappears in WWE

Three years after his surprise move to rival AEW, Mark Henry is back in WWE – along with his son, who may follow in his footsteps.

Three years after WWE legend Mark Henry’s surprise move to rival AEW, the reunion is in full swing.

After the Hall-of-Fame member recently let his contract with AEW expire, Henry has now reappeared in front of the WWE camera for the first time since 2021: The former Olympic weightlifter sat in the audience at the Monday Night RAW TV show in his native Texas – alongside his son Jacob Henry, who recently signed a deal with WWE himself.

Mark Henry’s son Jacob is under contract with WWE

Jacob Henry is currently a wrestler at the University of Oklahoma – with ambitions to make the football team there as well. He recently announced that he had signed a so-called NIL deal with WWE – a developmental contract for college athletes that opens up the option for a later WWE career. Masai Russell, who won gold in the 100-meter hurdles at the Olympics in Paris, also has such a contract with WWE.

Jacob’s father Mark Henry says he is currently concentrating on other business projects, but has not explicitly ruled out a return to WWE – a comeback to promote his son seems likely.

WCW legend Arn Anderson recently left AEW for similar reasons: Anderson – who saw his old AEW protégé Cody Rhodes again in a backstage segment at SummerSlam – apparently wants to place his son Brock with WWE. WWE executive “Triple H” Paul Levesque posted a photo with father and son Anderson after SummerSlam.

New match for Bash in Berlin

The RAW main event featured another generational clash between veteran Sami Zayn and young Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker. Breakker, son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner (and Scott’s nephew), won a best two out of three falls match against former titleholder Zayn to solidify his steep rise.

Another match was also revealed on RAW for the historic German Bash in Berlin on August 31st: The new Infernale duo of Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan will face former World Champion Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, the two outcast members of the Judgment Day faction, in a mixed match.

Ahead of the World Title match between Austrian phenom Gunther and Randy Orton, challenger Orton also made a statement when he surprised the “Ring General” with his finisher RKO during a talking match.
