LEC Spring Split: Rogue vs. Fnatic in the semi-finals

The Winners Bracket of the LEC Spring Split will see Rogue take on Fnatic for a place in the Grand Final. This will be a repeat of the 2021 Summer Split semi-finals.

The play-offs of the LEC Spring Split are in full swing. The first semi-final matches have been played, both in the Winners Bracket and the Losers Bracket. In the former, it now comes to the top duel: Rogue against Fnatic is the name of the “Winners’ Final”, the last round before the grand final.

Solid entry into the final round

Both Rogue and Fnatic are among the tournament’s co-favourites and were the top two teams in the group stage. Both teams were able to assert themselves in the first round of the play-offs and entered the “Winners’ Final”.

The games each went 3:1 for the favourites. Rogue won almost without any problems against outsider Misfits Gaming. Fnatic, led by German botlaner Elias ‘Upset’ Lipp, also had a dominant win against G2 Esports.

Revanche for Rogue?

So now comes the much-anticipated top clash between the two favourites of the LEC Spring Split. Rogue vs. Fnatic was also one of the semi-final matches of the LEC Summer Split 2021, but then still in the “Losers Bracket”. Fnatic won this duel clearly with 3:0. It remains to be seen whether the previously undefeated Rogue selection can offer more resistance in the upcoming encounter.

The “Losers Bracket” of the LEC Spring Split 2022 was also played. Team Vitality narrowly defeated Excel Esports 3-2 and will face G2 Esports in the next round. That match will be played on 1 April, with the top-of-the-table Rogue vs Fnatic taking place on 2 April at 17:00 CEST.
