Suspenseful duel in Los Angeles: The Lakers turned the game against the Orlando Magic around Franz and Moritz Wagner in the final quarter and won 106-103. It was the first defeat for the young team around the two world champions. Franz Wagner put his stamp on the game with 16 points and eight rebounds (Moritz scored five points in twelve minutes), but in the end it was LeBron James (19 points in 33 minutes) and his Lakers who took the victory. Also, because Franz Wagner could not put the final three-point attempt in the basket. Man of the evening was Anthony Davis (26, 19 rebounds), who took a lot of burden off the shoulders of the “King”, top scorer meanwhile D’Angelo Russell (28).
Dennis Schröder has known the feeling of defeat a little longer than the Wagner brothers. The DBB captain had to accept the third lost game in a row after the opening win with the Toronto Raptors. The Canadians lost 91-99 to the Portland Trail Blazers, who celebrated their first win of the season.
