The EWE Baskets Oldenburg have made a move in the transfer market and signed US-American MaCio Teague.
The EWE Baskets Oldenburg have thus completed their squad planning for the coming season in the BBL. This was announced by the former champions on Friday. Teague (25) signed a contract for two years, the guard has so far attracted attention mainly in college, the jump to the NBA remained elusive for him.
“With MaCio, we have found the last missing piece of the puzzle for our squad that we were looking for,” said coach Pedro Calles: “He is a young player who wants to prove himself with us and in whom we liked the combination of humility and winning mentality.”
Teague had impressed in the US in college at UNC Asheville and with the Baylor Bears, with whom he won the 2021 championship. Despite a contract with the Utah Jazz it was not enough for the NBA, via the Salt Lake City Stars (G-League) Teague came to Oldenburg. “The BBL is one of the most competitive leagues in Europe,” he said.
