This weekend is the last chance to give your opinion on current and future IndyCar Series issues
In early January, the IndyCar Series and Motorsport Network, in partnership with Nielsen Sports, launched the 2022 IndyCar Global Fan Survey in eleven languages to solicit the opinions of fans worldwide.
The survey includes questions about favourite drivers and teams, among other things. And just as there is close competition on the race tracks, there is also a close battle for first place in terms of the IndyCar participants most popular with fans.
With just a few hours to go before the poll closes, the top three positions in the current ranking of the most popular IndyCar teams are separated by less than three per cent. In the ranking of the most popular IndyCar drivers, it is even only five per cent between the first five positions. Drivers from seven nations currently rank in the top 10 of this list.
Tens of thousands of fans from over 130 countries have already taken part in the survey. This underlines the strong international appeal and passionate global fan base of North America’s premier formula racing series.
The 2022 IndyCar Global Fan Survey closes on Sunday. All data will then be downloaded for analysis by leading sports research company Nielsen Sports. This is your last chance to take part in the survey.
The survey is the first of its kind to focus specifically on IndyCar. It aims to gather the opinions of fans on a wide range of topics and issues, from viewing habits to ways to improve the series. It also asks about important issues away from racing, such as the environment, diversity and inclusion.
The growth of e-sports is also addressed in relation to IndyCar fans. Motorsport Games is currently developing the new official IndyCar game, which is due to launch in 2023.
“We see our fans as our most important partners in the growth of our sport and are excited to hear from them as part of this important project being undertaken in partnership with the team at Motorsport Network,” said S.J. Luedtke, IndyCar Series Vice President of Marketing, at the launch of the 2022 IndyCar Global Fan Survey on 10 January.
The key findings of the survey will be released at the end of February during the 2022 IndyCar season opener in St Petersburg, Florida. In addition, digital copies of the report will be made available for download worldwide via Motorsport Network.
