LeBron James in form, Anthony Davis in form – but the Los Angeles Lakers still lose at the Dallas Mavericks. Draymond Green once again makes negative headlines. The NBA on Wednesday morning

The Los Angeles Lakers lost their first game after winning the title in the new NBA tournament despite a strong spurt in the second half. The record champions lost 125:127 to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday evening. The Lakers, led by the strong Anthony Davis and LeBron James, overturned a 15-point deficit at one stage and ensured a thrilling game at the end, but were unable to overcome the Mavericks and their leader Luka Doncic. Maxi Kleber was still missing for the Texans due to the consequences of his dislocated little toe.

James with 33 points and Davis with 37 points and eleven rebounds played strongly. But it was not enough to stop Doncic in Dallas. The Slovenian recorded 33 points and 17 assists, while Tim Hardaway Jr. also had a strong evening with 32 points and made the most of his freedom in the absence of the injured Kyrie Irving.

World champion Daniel Theis later claimed a clear home win with the Los Angeles Clippers. The 119:98 win over the Sacramento Kings was never in danger, Theis was applauded several times and finished the game with eight points and three rebounds in 16 minutes. Man of the evening was Kawhi Leonard with 31 points for the Clippers.

The next scandal: Green punches Nurkic in the face

Draymond Green has already been sent off again. Less than a month after his five-game suspension for the headlock against Rudy Gobert, the Golden State Warriors basketball player punched his opponent Jusuf Nurkic in the face on Tuesday evening (local time).

Both had previously fought for their position on the court. The referees disqualified Green after the scene in the third quarter of the game against the Phoenix Suns. Green faces a new penalty from the league because of his history. The Warriors lost the game 116-119.
