“The win obviously gives me energy, but I have to be realistic and see if my wrist hurts again tomorrow. It’s very exhausting here,” said Kyrgios, who had already considered retirement due to his protracted injury problems. Kyrgios has slipped to 892nd place in the world rankings.
The last time Kyrgios won was in Tokyo on October 6, 2022. At that time, there was a first-round victory against the Pole Kamil Majchrzak.
