BVB coach Marco Rose will have to rebuild his eleven against Hertha BSC. Two regulars did not make the trip to Berlin on Friday evening.
Till the last minute, Rose was worried about the substitutions of Mats Hummels and Gregor Kobel in Saturday’s away match (6.30pm) at Hertha BSC. Both the defender and the goalkeeper have a cold. And it’s clearly not enough for either of them. As the “Ruhr Nachrichten “ report, Hummels and Kobel have not flown to Berlin.
In Kobel’s place, Marwin Hitz will move into the BVB goal. The 34-year-old Swiss made a brief appearance at Bielefeld in the current Bundesliga season when he was substituted for the stricken Kobel after the break.
Three options come into question as Hummels’ replacements. Marin Pongracic, Emre Can or Axel Witsel. Witsel is likely to move into central defence alongside Dan-Axel Zagadou, with Can moving to the six.
Guerreiro and Wolf fit again
In contrast, Marius Wolf and Raphael Guerreiro, who both missed the game against Fürth due to muscular problems, got on the plane with the team.
