Hugo Ekitiké has left the French U21 national team injured. The attacker has already returned to Frankfurt.
Frankfurt’s success this season is mainly down to two names: Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitiké. The latter, along with Stuttgart’s Enzo Millot, has been re-nominated for the French U-21 national team and should play in the friendly duels with Italy (Friday, 4:15 p.m.) and Germany (Tuesday, 6:15 p.m.).
However, this will not happen because Ekitiké is injured. As the SGE announced, the 22-year-old has already returned to Frankfurt on Thursday. “Knee joint sprain with inner ligament strain” is the diagnosis that currently does not allow Ekitiké to play.
However, there is no threat of a longer absence. As Eintracht writes, Ekitiké “is expected to return to training next week”.
If all goes to plan, the attacker, who has already collected 24 scorer points (15 goals, 9 assists) in all competitions this season, should be fit in time for the next Bundesliga game. On November 23, SGE will host Werder Bremen at home.
