Zsolt Löw was Thomas Tuchel’s assistant for years. Now the Hungarian is supposed to join the Red Bull group.
According to media reports, Zsolt Löw is to take over the position of “Head of Soccer Development” within the Red Bull Group, thus supporting Jürgen Klopp in his new role as “Global Sports Director”. Löw will be responsible for developing the game philosophy, analysis and development of coaches and players within the various Red Bull teams. It is expected that he will sign his contract at the beginning of the week.
After that, the Hungarian is to set off on his first business trip together with Klopp and technical director Mario Gomez. The trio will first visit the group club Bragantino in Brazil and then fly on to New York (Red Bulls) and Japan (Omiya Ardija from Tokyo).
Worked for Red Bull from 2012 to 2018
Löw was Thomas Tuchel’s assistant coach for many years, most recently at Bayern Munich until the summer of 2024. He was also one of Tuchel’s assistants and confidants at Chelsea and PSG. However, after Tuchel took up the position of England national team manager, it became known that Löw would be devoting himself to other tasks and would therefore not be part of the Three Lions’ coaching team.
Red Bull is bringing in no stranger to the company with the 45-year-old. Löw, who played 100 Bundesliga games for Mainz, Hoffenheim and Cottbus during his playing days, once began his post-career under the umbrella of the beverage manufacturer. Initially as an assistant coach for the farm team Lieferung ab 2012, he later became Adi Hütter’s assistant coach at RB Salzburg and remained in this position under his successors Ralph Hasenhüttl and Ralf Rangnick, before Tuchel then lured him to Paris in 2018.
