After wins in all twelve races of the season so far, Kalex are already confirmed as Moto2 World Champions – Since 2013, all Constructors’ titles have gone to Germany
The German company Kalex-Engineering has won the Constructors’ Championship in the Moto2 class for the tenth time in a row. After the first twelve races in the 2022 season, Kalex has collected the maximum haul of 300 points.
Boscoscuro from Italy has 77 points to his name. As a maximum of 200 points can still be collected in the remaining eight races, Boscoscuro can no longer overtake Kalex. The first world championship title decision has already been made.
Kalex has been in the Moto2 class in its current form since it was introduced in 2010. In the first season there were far more than ten different chassis manufacturers. Kalex only worked with the Pons team back then and finished the debut year in seventh place.
The first Kalex victory came at the 2011 season opener in Qatar. The German also became the rider’s world champion that year. In the constructors’ championship, however, Kalex had to admit defeat to Suter from Switzerland in 2011 and also in 2012.
But since 2013, the constructors’ title has always gone to Bobingen in the district of Augsburg. In 2016, 2020 and 2021, Kalex won all the season races and collected the maximum possible World Championship points.
This year, too, they are still undefeated, although most recently Boscoscuro rider Alonso Lopez almost defeated Augusto Fernandez at Silverstone. The last rider not to win with a Kalex chassis was KTM’s Brad Binder at the 2019 season finale in Valencia.
This means Kalex is already undefeated in 45 Grands Prix. With Bradl, Pol Espargaro, Tito Rabat, Johann Zarco, Franco Morbidelli, Francesco Bagnaia, Alex Marquez, Enea Bastianini and Remy Gardner, nine riders have become world champions with Kalex, Zarco twice.
