2022 Jule Niemeier was still in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon. In the meantime, the German tennis player has slipped far down the world rankings. A personnel decision should turn things around
German tennis player Jule Niemeier (24) is changing her coach again and wants to regain her old form with her manager Michael Geserer as her coach.
The 54-year-old has already been coaching the former Wimbledon quarter-finalist for four weeks, preparing her for the start of the season and will look after her for the whole of next year. Geserer announced this to the German Press Agency.
Niemeier had only parted company with coach Christopher Kas at the end of August after a year and a half following her qualifying exit at the US Open. But even under the former Davis Cup winner Zeljko Krajan from Croatia, there was no turnaround. Niemeier has recently been playing at lower-ranked tournaments and has now slipped to 165th in the world rankings. She will therefore have to qualify for the Australian Open as the first highlight of the year in January
The former professional Geserer used to coach Julia Görges (35), among others, and most recently looked after Petra Martic (32) from Croatia.
