The judoka brought the German team three medals at the start of the first European Para Championships (EPC) in Rotterdam. Lennart Sass took European silver, as he did last year, losing in the final to his long-time rival Florin Alexandru Bologa from Romania. Two-time Paralympic champion Ramona Brussig and World Championships debutant Tabea Müller both won bronze medals in their starting classes.
In Rotterdam, European Championships are being held simultaneously in ten Para sports, many of which also have a direct influence on qualification for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. The German Disabled Sports Association (DBS) will be competing in eight of the ten sports.
