“It will be 2024”: UFL release officially postponed to next year

The plan to release in 2023 has failed, the soccer simulation UFL is to be launched in the new year. The developer’s CEO provided an update – including an outlook on the next steps

It wasn’t enough again. After the release of UFL was originally scheduled for 2022 and postponed to 2023 due to “quality concerns”, Strikerz Inc. has to reschedule again. Nobody was probably surprised on Wednesday that the soccer simulation will no longer be released in the remaining few days of the year. “We had planned to release in 2023. But we didn’t,” says Eugene Nashilov, CEO of the development studio.

“To make a long story short: It will be 2024,” he continues in his statement on X. Nashilov apologizes to the fans for not having achieved “everything we had planned”. On the positive side, he highlighted the new partnership with investor Cristiano Ronaldo, the release of two alpha versions and “hundreds of thousands of generated wishlist entries”. The team is currently working on evaluating the feedback and data from the latest alpha test phase: “To offer the best possible product quality. “

Nashilov’s plan: beta, date, release

This will be followed by a closed beta weekend, which Nashilov describes as a “huge global test with a large audience”. “If we get through the beta well, we will announce the release date soon after and publish the game,” he writes.

Despite the new postponement, the community’s expectations are high. The CEO of Strikerz Inc. is aware of this: “2024 will decide how big UFL can actually become. I hope that together with you, we can change the soccer video game landscape for the better.” With Ronaldo and his million-euro investment, Nashilov at least has a good basis for this
