Nikola Jokic does not believe in a solution for the often-criticized NBA All-Star Game. The Denver Nuggets superstar explained that the lack of commitment from the players will not change – instead, the league should set its priorities differently.
Despite new formats and adjustments, the NBA All-Star Game remains an event that is criticized for its lack of intensity. However, this comes as no surprise to Nikola Jokic. The three-time MVP believes it is unrealistic to expect the players’ commitment to change.
“I think we should focus on other things than the All-Star Game. It will always be like this, so we should just accept it,” Jokic told The Denver Post.
NBA: New All-Star Game Format a Failure?
The NBA had tried to create more excitement this year with a four-team mini-tournament. But the format failed to stop the ongoing debate about the lack of intensity.
Other stars also expressed their opinions about the All-Star weekend. Draymond Green called the new format “ridiculous” and was particularly critical of the participation of the Rising Stars. Giannis Antetokounmpo, on the other hand, suggested a Team USA vs. Team World format as an ideal solution.
