Like many professional footballers, Kylian Mbappé also likes to play FIFA Ultimate Team in his spare time. Now, however, the superstar is breaking with it. The reasons he gives are revealing
Many professional athletes like to go to the console in their free time. And it is not uncommon for the pleasure to be streamed. For example, Max Kruse or Loris Karius can be found on Twitch.
But at the latest since Diogo Jota of Liverpool FC dominated the Weekend League, it has become clear how much footballers actually gamble. But now, with Kylian Mbappé, one of the sport’s biggest superstars has put a stop to it.
“I quit FUT Champions “
The 23-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker, who has graced the cover of both FIFA 21 and 22, was a guest on a recent livestream hosted by French eSports star Corentin ‘Gotaga’ Houssein. There they talked about FUT Champions, the new version of the Weekend League in FIFA 22, with Mbappé revealing that he no longer plays that mode.
“I stopped playing FUT Champions,” the French international explained. When asked if it was because of the time commitment, whereby you have to play a lot on weekends to get all the rewards, Mbappé denied it.
“No, it has affected my morale, it weighs on me,” the Parisian told us. What he must have meant jokingly in the context of a gaming stream could become a real problem regardless of Mbappé. Already at the beginning of FIFA 22, the new Weekend League was said to have a motivation problem.
