One of the most exciting matches of the first week of the Champions League group stage, tonight Spurs will play Inter Milan at the San Siro. Inter Milan go into the game hoping they can better their recent Serie A form, which has seen them pick up just one win and one draw in their first four games. If they are going to get a result against Tottenham, then they likely need to step up a few gears.

Spurs players look tired
Tottenham started their own domestic season off well, picking up three wins from three but then they suffered shock from a 2-1 loss to Watford. On Saturday, they played a home match against Liverpool and looked well below their usual level with the 2-1 defeat looking like a flattering score for them in a game where Liverpool could have scored four or five. Pundits analyzing the match have questioned whether Kane and the other World Cup players are suffering from not having enough rest in the summer. Kane has scored two goals in his opening five matches, trailing behind Chelsea’s Hazard who has five.

Golden boot winner Kane is a deadly threat
People who watched the game against Liverpool will tell you that now is the best time to play Tottenham but Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti will not underestimate the Spurs team. Tottenham may not have added to their squad over the summer but they have kept a group of players together that have done exceptionally well for the last couple of years. Harry Kane picked up the Golden Boot in the World Cup and has shown that he can consistently score 30 plus goals a season. The danger is clear.
Spalletti dismissed the idea that Kane is tired: “Harry Kane tired? I don’t agree, we have seen Tottenham matches and we have seen him working in any situation. Tottenham relies a lot on this player.” He went on to say that his team will be very motivated to play in Europe’s top competition.
Team news
Spurs will be without their star midfielder Dele Alli but Lucas Moura has had some big performances recently, particularly in the 3-0 defeat of Manchester United. Spurs are also with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and Moussa Sissoko.
Inter should welcome Mauro Icardi back into the starting eleven and Danilo d’Ambrosio is set for a late fitness test for the home side.
