It’s official: Alexis Sanchez (33) is a player for Olympique Marseille. His contract with Inter Milan had previously been terminated
The club made the announcement on their Twitter page on Wednesday afternoon. The 33-year-old Chile international, who had previously played for FC Barcelona, Arsenal FC, Manchester United and Inter Milan among others, signed a contract for one season with an option for another, according to French media reports.
Sanchez’s current contract at Inter Milan had previously been terminated, meaning Marseille will not pay a transfer fee. At OM, the Chilean will wear the shirt number 70.
For Marseille, it is a transfer that should bring experience to the team of Croatian coach Igor Tudor, who qualified for the Champions League this year. Sanchez will be playing in the fourth of Europe’s top five leagues after spells in Serie A, La Liga and the Premier League.
