ID Racing officially announces participation in 2022 ADAC GT Masters

Iris Dorr’s new team will enter the German GT Championship in 2022 with a Porsche 911 GT3 R

Promise kept: ID Racing, Iris Dorr’s new team, will compete in the ADAC GT Masters in 2022. The team made the announcement on social media. The team has not yet announced which drivers will pilot the Porsche 911 GT3 R. A vehicle design is to follow shortly. A vehicle design is to follow shortly.

Dorr, who had previously pulled the strings at the European part of MRS-GT Racing, announced the formation of its own racing team in November 2021. This team will compete in both the Porsche Carrera Cup and the German GT Championship in 2022.

While three 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars will be fielded in the Carrera Cup, the final year of the 991.2 generation of the Porsche 911 GT3 R will see just one vehicle. The market for both Porsche vehicles has been extremely tight for more than a year, and demand is huge. In this respect, the acquisition of four vehicles can be considered a success.

The parallel involvement is logical because the Carrera Cup is part of the supporting programme at six of the seven race weekends of the ADAC GT Masters. Several teams are taking advantage of this overlap.

ID Racing has already made its debut. At the 24 Hours of Dubai, the three Cup Porsches finished fourth to sixth in the 992-Pro class.
