AC Milan will have to do without Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the next few days. The Swedish veteran will thus also miss an important cup match against rivals Inter Milan.
Italian media reported on Tuesday that Ibrahimovic is suffering from a left knee strain and is expected to be out for at least ten days. Coach Stefano Pioli confirmed those fears on Thursday, announcing a further seven to ten days of downtime.
This means that the 40-year-old Swede will certainly miss Friday’s league match against CFC Genoa. And next Tuesday’s cup match at Inter Milan will also come too soon for the Swede. Both Milanese clubs meet in the semi-finals, the first leg ended 0-0.
Ibrahimovic has been plagued by injuries time and again this season. However, he still has 19 games in the league, scoring eight goals.
