SC Paderborn will go into Saturday’s match against FC Ingolstadt as clear favourites. And with defender Uwe Hünemeier.
The Paderborn side will be able to call on centre-back Uwe Hünemeier in the home match against FC Ingolstadt. The veteran had to leave the pitch after 73 minutes in the 4:2 win in Karlsruhewith an injury to his nose. Initially it was feared that he had broken his nose. However, a thorough examination revealed that the bone was not damaged. Midfielder Julian Justvan is also fit for action. Marcel Mehlem, on the other hand, is out with calf problems.
Against last-place Ingolstadt, there will be a reunion with Paderborn’s former coach Andre Schubert, who started his professional coaching career with the SCP in 2009. Schubert’s start with the Schanzers did not go according to plan, however. Since he took over at the end of September, only one point from four games has been recorded, and the Bavarians have lost three times by zero.
Kwasniok stacks the deck
Although the fourth-placed team in the table from the Pader is the clear favourite, SCP coach Lukas Kwasniok expects “a game on a par, in which small things will decide”.
In addition to Schubert, FC Ingolstadt’s ranks include two other ex-Paderborn players, right-back Michael Heinloth and striker Stefan Kutschke.
