It was the 77th minute of what had been a rather dull city derby between Türkgücü and 1860 München when Löwen professional Philipp Steinhart thoroughly failed to make a clearance in front of his own penalty area. The ball bounced to Hottmann, who first received the ball with his chest, then advanced with his left knee and then scored skilfully with a side-footed shot to make it 1:0. A dream goal.
“I spun around and just aimed,” said the Swabian-born player modestly in an interview with “MagentaSport”. Hottmann, who had only been substituted in the 70th minute, had in any case paved the way for his team’s longed-for liberation from the bottom of the table.
