Myatt Snider was involved in a violent accident on the final lap of the NASCAR Xfinity race at Daytona – He survived the accident virtually unscathed

What happened? While AJ Allmendinger and Austin Hill, who won the race, were battling for first place at the front, there was contact between Anthony Alfredo and Snider in midfield. Jade Burford was unable to avoid Snider’s damaged car and crashed into its side. Snider’s Chevrolet took off and crashed into the catch fence. The 27-year-old got out of the completely destroyed vehicle on his own, sustaining only a minor foot injury.
“Yeah, I mean it’s the last lap and everybody’s trying their best to go as hard as they can,” Snider said after the race. “I was trying to keep as much momentum as possible. Then I felt a bump and noticed the car slipping to the right. “
“I thought, ‘Shit, this could be a wild ride’, and it was. I got turned on my side and then I saw the track and thought, ‘Hmm, this is getting better and better’. I think that’s when I flew the left rear towards the catch fence and that’s when it hit me. That was the moment when the car was torn to pieces. After that I skidded onto the grass, as far as I can tell. “
Snider speaks of a “violent accident” in which “sparks” flew through the air everywhere. However, the 27-year-old could not really orientate himself during the accident, which is why it is difficult for him to reconstruct the situation. “So I kind of held on, kind of leaned forward and tightened everything as much as I could. So yeah, I can’t affirm enough how glad I am that it’s over. I’m fine.”
Snider is a true NASCAR scion who even tried his hand at the European NASCAR series in 2019.
