The European Football Championship 2024 in Germany will be depicted in EA SPORTS FC 24. The developer has announced a corresponding update – and a matching eSports format
The sporting prospects of the German national team with a view to next year’s home European Championships currently appear manageable. Should the European Championships actually result in the fourth early tournament exit in a row, there is still a virtual alternative: Euro 2024 will be played in FC 24. Developer EA SPORTS announced the recreation of the competition on Thursday.
The in-game update will be free of charge and available for PC and all consoles of the last and current generation. As a small foretaste, six “non-exchangeable” items will be released for FUT. The “European stars” include DFB international Florian Wirtz, Ousmane Dembelé, Jack Grealish, Federico Chiesa, Virgil van Dijk and Alvaro Morata. To unlock the special cards, FC 24 only needs to be played until January 16th
eSport: European champions wanted in FC 24
“We’re delighted to announce that one of next summer’s biggest soccer tournaments will be fully integrated into the FC titles,” said David Jackson, Vice President EA SPORTS FC. “Together with our fantastic partners at UEFA, EA SPORTS can continue to deliver the most authentic and innovative soccer experiences to fans with this exclusive European Championship content.”
In addition to the usual complimentary back pass, UEFA Marketing Director Guy-Laurent Epstein also announced an “eEuro competition tournament” in his statement. The best FC players will compete for the respective UEFA national teams. The eEuro is to become an annual competition including a qualifying phase and a live final in the summer. Further information on the new eSports format will be available “shortly”.
