Hofmann had already expressed his full confidence in Weinzierl last week at the general meeting, while he had not mentioned Reuter with a single word in his speech. This had sparked off a discussion about the manager, who had been unsuccessful for some time, which intensified after the debacle in Mainz.
After turbulent days, the FCA boss is now trying to close ranks.
