There has been a lot of excitement about Martin Hinteregger in recent weeks. What is the Austrian himself planning? A career end in Frankfurt.
First Hinteregger told freely that it had been suggested to him in autumn to leave Eintracht in summer. “A lot has gone to pieces this year,” he lamented to the “Kronen Zeitung”. The waters were quickly smoothed over.
Then it became public that Hinteregger’s business partner at the “Hinti Cup” was close to the “Identitarian Movement”. The business connection was quickly dissolved, there were statements from Eintracht, the ÖFB and Hinteregger himself.
Now he commented on his future on the sidelines of the amateur football tournament. “The transfer rumours are nonsense. I’m not switching to Hertha either – as has been rumoured,” said the centre-back, whose contract still runs until 2024. “I will definitely finish my professional career with Eintracht Frankfurt!” But, as we all know, there are always two sides to it.
