The Hamburger SV will have to do without regular goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes for a while longer – but his substitute has done splendidly so far.
The knee capsule injury suffered by Daniel Heuer Fernandes at the end of October in the DFB Cup second round match against 1. FC Nürnberg (4:2 i.E.) is more protracted than expected.
Hamburger SV announced on Thursday that a new MRI examination of the regular goalkeeper showed that the posterior capsule in the back of his knee has not yet completely healed. Heuer Fernandes is therefore “not yet able to control the knee 100 per cent”.
That’s why they decided together that the 29-year-old would “continue to train individually for the time being” so as not to risk damaging the knee in the long term. He will “probably miss a few weeks “, said the HSV.
Johansson convinces at the first attempt
