Santiago de Chile – German tennis professional Yannick Hanfmann was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the ATP tournament in Santiago de Chile. The player from Weinheim lost to the number 4 seed Pedro Martinez from Spain with 2:6, 2:6.
Hanfmann had lost his first two service games in the first set and was trailing 0:4. In the second set, Martinez managed a break to 5:2 and then decided the match on his own serve.
Nevertheless, the tournament in Chile was a success for Hanfmann: The 115th ranked player in the world reached the quarter-finals of an ATP event for the first time since July 2021.
