Göttingen’s top scorer Baldwin is out

BG Göttingen will have to do without their top scorer Kamar Baldwin for several weeks. The American fell during the 76:89 defeat against Würzburg on Sunday without the help of an opponent.
According to the club, the 24-year-old suffered a partial tear of the pectoral muscle. The Göttingen club have until 31 March to sign a possible replacement.

“We are now looking at whether it is possible to sign a new player in the short time available to at least compensate for Kamar’s absence,” said managing director Frank Meinertshagen.

The fact is that the loss weighs heavily, because Baldwin is the absolute go-to guy for the “Violets”. It is not for nothing that he leads the team in points with an average of 19. Only Crailsheim’s T.J. Shorts scores more with 20.6 points per game.

Göttingen are currently in seventh place and thus on course for the play-offs. However, the loss of their most important player could now mean a difficult phase for the team.
