Richard Spencer’s Rumble Inthejungle won the Group Three sprint by an astonishing two and a half lengths, as Tom Queally guided him home to pick up the win at Goodwood in the Molecomb Stakes. If the name sounds familiar, it is probably because his father, Bungle Inthejungle won the same race back in 2012.
Now Rumble Inthejungle has two wins from three races
Previous to this race, Rumble Inthejungle had clocked up a debut win at Salisbury in May before coming in fourth in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. The bookies had him at 5-1 in this five-furlong Group Three and he held a strong race throughout.
Trainer Richard Spencer talks up Rumble Inthejungle’s future
Trainer Richard Spencer said after the race: “It’s a massive step forward and Tom gave him a lovely ride. He’s very quick, but I think he’ll get an extra furlong. He’s not just an out-and-out five-(furlong) horse.”
“He’s got multiple entries in the sales races, but we’ll speak to all the owners and try to hatch a plan.
“He’s got a bright future.”
Second place went to Life of Riley and the race favourite Soldier’s Call finished third.
Feel Glorious shock win at 125-1
