As expected, the state of Bavaria decided on Friday that no spectators will be allowed into the stadiums for the time being.
FC Bayern has three home games left this year, the Champions League second leg against Barcelona and the Bundesliga matches against Mainz and Wolfsburg. “The fact that we now have to play in front of empty stands again at the Allianz Arena hits us hard. Without our fans in the stadium, football is only half as nice, not to mention the economic consequences,” commented Jan-Christian Dreesen, Deputy Chairman of the Board, adding: “Of course, we have to accept this decision as it is, even though everything is done for the health of the visitors in our Allianz Arena with 2Gplus and our hygiene concept.”
Other professional clubs such as FC Augsburg (on Saturday against Bochum) and SpVgg Greuther Fürth, second division clubs 1. FC Nürnberg, Jahn Regensburg and FC Ingolstadt as well as third division clubs Würzburger, 1860 München and Türkgücü München are also affected by the decisions.
For the time being, the football stadiums in the other federal states may be used to a maximum of 50 per cent of their capacity, or a maximum of 15,000 spectators. This was decided by the federal-state roundtable on Thursday.
