Tennis pro Eva Lys has made it into the main draw of the US Open. The 22-year-old beat Great Britain’s Lily Miyazaki 6:1, 6:2 in the third qualifying round to make it to Flushing Meadows for the second time.
However, Maximilian Marterer (Nuremberg), who lost his decisive duel, will not be competing. The 29-year-old lost 4:6, 2:6 to Mitchell Krueger from the USA and will therefore miss out on his fifth appearance at the hard court tournament in New York.
