BVB talent Youssoufa Moukoko will receive a Future Stars card for EA SPORTS FC 24 on Friday evening. In an interview, the Dortmund player reveals why this is “absolutely not a matter of course” and what kind of gamer he is
Borussia Dortmund and the Future Stars in Ultimate Team – this connection is already a tradition. Jadon Sancho in FIFA 19, Erling Haaland in FIFA 20, Giovanni Reyna in FIFA 21, Jude Bellingham in FIFA 22, Karim Adeyemi in FIFA 23 – since the first edition of the promo, no Future Stars event has been without BVB talent. FC 24 is no exception: A new FUT special card from Youssoufa Moukoko will appear in the second team on Friday evening.
Given the prominent list of his black-and-yellow predecessors, what significance does the Future Stars inclusion have for the two-time international? “I played together with Erling, so of course he’s a professional in the ‘you want to be there’ category,” said Moukoko in an interview with EA SPORTS, which is available exclusively to eSport. “Last year Karim was in the campaign and this year it’s me. Something like that is absolutely not a given and I’m proud to be a part of it now. “
How does the BVB star himself play FC 24?
According to Moukoko, it takes a strong overall package to become a future star in soccer like in FC 24: “I think it takes everything. What counts on the pitch is what you deliver. You have to be mentally strong. The more successful you are, the more pressure there is on and off the pitch, of course. Which is why you also need a lot of discipline, ambition and will.” EA SPORTS seems to recognize and reward these attributes in the 19-year-old Borussian
Moukoko has picked up the controller himself and stepped onto the virtual pitch “less recently”. He also notices that he has “gotten worse” in FC 24. However, the new special object could provide fresh motivation: “I’m definitely looking forward to being able to play with my own Future Star card soon – maybe then I’ll play more often again.” With 91 points for digital speed and strong dribbling (89) and shooting (88), some FUT and BVB fans should also be pleased.
When asked by EA SPORTS, Moukoko did not use the game to prepare for upcoming opponents. Instead, the Dortmund attacker revealed what kind of gamer he is: “I always have a lot of fun playing online against stronger opponents. I’m also a bit of a tactician and like to compete with the best.” He now counts himself among the latter in FC 24 – one of the best talents according to the developer.
