The current rising Corona numbers are again having an effect on events of all kinds. This also applies to the general meeting of the SpVgg Greuther Fürth planned for 25 November. This can currently only be held under 2G standards. Therefore, the club has now decided not to vote on the motions to amend the statutes and to establish a fan department.
Legal concerns delay vote
“There are legal concerns. With the new requirement, members could be expelled and then sue against the resolutions. Then we would have no legal certainty during a possible trial period and we don’t want that,” President Fred Höfler explained this decision in a letter to the members. However, the decision was not to forego the general meeting altogether: “We still want to announce the business figures for the past two years and discharge the boards, which is why we decided against cancelling the general meeting altogether,” Höfler continued.
According to Höfler, this does not mean that the motions have been completely removed from the agenda: “We will put these two motions to the vote at an extraordinary general meeting at the beginning of next year, when all members will again have the opportunity to participate. We regret this delay, but we have to take it this way now, weighing up all the risks.”
