Führich’s exit clause has expired

Stay or go was also the motto for Chris Führich for a long time. It now looks like the former. The Stuttgart international’s release clause expired a few days ago

Chris Führich was one of the VfB professionals who was able to get out of his contract, which runs until the end of June 2028, for around €22 million.

If at all. Because unlike Serhou Guirassy and Waldemar Anton, who moved to Borussia Dortmund with the same exit option, and Hiroki Ito, who left for FC Bayern, things never really got concrete with Führich. Neither the German record champions nor the permanent challengers from North Rhine-Westphalia, who were under discussion as candidates, were really active. Possible leads in England’s Premier League quickly died down. Even with Italy, where Juventus Turin were recently interested in Führich, nothing has come of it (so far).

Only two squad positions still open

This does not mean that the winger will stay in Stuttgart 100 percent. The transfer window is still open for around six weeks, and new suitors cannot be ruled out. However, the likelihood of him staying has increased and the price of compensation will be freely negotiable in future

This means Stuttgart’s squad is largely complete. With new signings such as Fabian Rieder, who was at the European Championships with Switzerland, Jeff Chabot, Nick Woltemade, Frans Krätzig and now Ermedin Demirovic, the Swabians have signed exciting professionals with starting eleven prospects. Only two positions are still open: that of the hanging second striker, which is reserved for goalscorer Deniz Undav, who Brighton & Hove Albion are not letting off the hook. And that of right-back
