FC Bayern have finalized their summer schedule. A total of four test matches in three countries are scheduled
When Vincent Kompany calls for his first training session as head coach of FC Bayern on July 17, the group will still be manageable: Three days after the finals of the European Championship and the Copa America, numerous Munich professionals will still be on vacation – or celebrating. In the days leading up to this, every player present at Säbener Straße will undergo a medical examination and performance diagnostics. The official start of training is therefore Monday, July 15.
One week later, the Bayern squad will travel to the training camp at Lake Tegernsee, where Kompany will assemble his team from July 22 to 27. And as usual, there will also be a – previously undisclosed – test match against home side FC Rottach-Egern (July 24), who the record champions beat 27-0 last summer.
On July 28, the next test match will be at 1. FC Düren in front of 9,000 spectators. The regional league club had drawn FC Bayern as their DFB Cup first-round opponents in 2020, but relinquished their home ground due to the pandemic. With this latest clash, FCB are keeping a promise.
Manuel Neuer & Co. will play the remaining two test matches against Tottenham Hotspur: As part of the South Korea tour, which is planned between July 31 and August 5, Bayern will face Harry Kane’s former club in Seoul on August 3 – and then again in London on August 10. It is also the dress rehearsal for the DFB Cup opener on August 16 at second-division promoted SSV Ulm 1846.
