Fortuna Düsseldorf are threatened with the absence of Daniel Thioune: A rapid test of the head coach showed a positive result for the corona virus on Monday morning.
As Fortuna announced on Monday morning, there were three positive results in a regular corona test on Monday morning. Apart from Thioune, Robert Bozenik and athletics coach Andreas Gross were also affected by this.
Result of PCR test still pending
The affected are now in domestic quarantine. Whether Thioune will be able to lead Düsseldorf’s preparations this week for next Saturday’s away game at SC Paderborn (1.30pm) depends on the result of the PCR test, which is still pending.
Thioune only took over at the Rhinelanders at the beginning of February as successor to the previously sacked Christian Preußer. Under his direction, the team has won three games and drawn one. The ten points have given Düsseldorf some breathing space in the battle against relegation and moved them up to the rear of the midfield. On Sunday, Thioune was still on the bench for the 3-0 win against bottom side Ingolstadt.
