Norman Nato will be the teammate of defending champion Jake Dennis in the Andretti racing team for the 2024 Formula E season, succeeding Andre Lotterer
Porsche’s Andretti customer team has found a successor for Andre Lotterer, whose career in the electric racing series is coming to an end after six seasons, for the upcoming 2024 Formula E World Championship season. Norman Nato has been given the nod by Andretti. The Frenchman will thus become the new team-mate of defending champion Jake Dennis.
In the tenth season of Formula E, which begins on 13 January 2024 in Mexico City, Nato will compete with his usual starting number 17. He wore this in the past 2023 season in the Nissan works team, with a second place in Rome being his best result of the season.
Nato made his debut in Formula E in the 2021 season with the Venturi team. At that season finale in Berlin-Tempelhof, he managed his only victory to date. However, compared to his debut season with Venturi, Nato was much more consistent in the 2023 season with Nissan, finishing in the top 10 in the points standings.
“I’m very excited to be a part of the Andretti programme in its tenth season [of Formula E],” says Nato. “It will be exciting to have a car capable of winning. I’m looking forward to working with the team and contributing to the team’s long history of success.”
Michael Andretti, who owns the team, is “confident in the direction Formula E Team Andretti is heading” and says: “Norman brings plenty of experience and talent and has attracted attention with his progress during the [2023] season. After Jake’s title win, the bar is now high, but we’re hungry for more.”
While Nato has left the Nissan factory team after just one season for his move to Andretti, Oliver Rowland returns to the Japanese factory team after two years with Mahindra to take over Nato’s cockpit. Rowland will thus be Sacha Fenestraz’s teammate in the 2024 Formula E season.
