In 2022, Andrea Petković ended her active tennis career. In future, she will once again be part of Sky’s broadcasts as an expert
Former top ten player Andrea Petković will commentate matches on Sky as a tennis expert in future. The 36-year-old from Darmstadt will alternate regularly with former pro Patrik Kühnen, the pay-TV broadcaster announced.
Petković has agreed to cover eight to ten tournaments this season. Her first Sky appearance is planned for the clay court Masters tournament in Monte-Carlo in April. Petković ended her career at the 2022 US Open and has worked in various roles, including as a writer, TV presenter and mentor for talented players at the German Tennis Federation. Sky’s group of commentators also includes former professionals Philipp Kohlschreiber and Mischa Zverev.
The pay provider had already announced at the end of last year that it had acquired media rights for the WTA women’s tournaments. Sky also extended its contract with the ATP men’s tour. In contrast, the broadcaster lost the rights for Wimbledon. The world’s most famous tennis tournament will be broadcast on Internet TV by Prime Video in Germany from this year onwards.
